Packet Tracer
During the school year, we worked with Packet Tracer and designed various networks. Here are the last three exercises we completed:
- Exercise 1: Identifying the difference between a router and a hub. In this exercise, we delved into the characteristics and functionalities of both network devices. We understood that a router can route and manage network traffic between different networks, while a hub is a simple interconnection device that merely repeats signals to all its ports.
- Exercise 2: Implementing wireless devices. In this exercise, we learned how to configure and use wireless devices such as access points and wireless clients. We created a functional wireless network, allowing devices to communicate with each other through a wireless connection.
- Exercise 3: Identifying the limitations of communication between networks with different IP addresses. In this exercise, we understood that a network cannot directly communicate with another network that uses a different IP address. We explored the concept of routing and the necessary configurations to enable communication between networks with different IP addresses.
These exercises allowed us to apply theoretical knowledge to network design using Packet Tracer. We were able to explore and experiment with different network configurations, gaining a deeper understanding of networks and their components.
